Opal City

In June 2022, I fulfilled a personal dream, driving 848.2km into the red heart of Australia where the opals glisten and they live under ground.

This felt especially redemptive, as I set out back in 2019 towards Coober Pedee, but broke down in my van outside of Adelaide in a small place called Port Wakefield. Never quite making it to this cinematic, quirky and rather mysterious place only built the anticipation. Here is a little 35mm film photo journal of this iconic Australian town.
